5 CORE VALUES
FAITH
Though we are not a religious organization, the values and principles of OCR Kids are based on the Bible. We believe that every child is uniquely created by God. Each child was designed with their own perosnality, talents, strengths, and that each child should be nurtured and cared for that they may live out their God-given purpose. In OCR kids we believe that we are entrusted by God to care for these young souls and influence them positively through our coaching and training.
FAMILY
Family is the most influencial unit of society and a lot of who we are today are due to our upbringing. In OCR kids, we believe that the parents' role is very important in the Obstacle Sports journey of the children. We know that the presence of the parents during trainings, events, and competitions, the support and comfort of the parents during triumphs and disappointments are crucial to a child's development. We work and communicate closely with the parents so that we can work together to best help and serve the children in our care.
FRIENDSHIP
In a highly competitive world, we want to start kids off the other way. We do not shield our students from competition but we teach them to have a different perspective. We emphasize friendships. We emphasize cheering for each other regardless if they are better or less-skilled. We emphasize learning as a community because we believe that children can learn so much more (not just physically) when they learn with other kids. They learn to navigate successes, losses, differences in personality, differences in skill level when they train with other children. They also learn to give and serve the other kids who through encouragements, skill advice, comfrort, and more.
FITNESS
As a physical sport, one of the main goals is definitely to help children have a good start in their fitness journey. We want to set up a child for success when it comes to their health. Other than that, we want to support the children in their obstacle goals whether its to get better, become competitive, or just learn new skills.
FUN
Last but definitely not the least, we want the children to keep having fun. Sports, even when done competitively, should remain fun for children. We want the children to be intrisically motivated in their training and in their competitions. We desire that the kids under our care will grow up with a healthy perspective on sports, having fun, and never associating their worth with their performance.
